HACCP/Sanitation Audit:

Surefish conducts these audits from the viewpoint of an FDA inspector or other regulatory auditor. These audits contribute to the improvement of the Quality System without the negative impact to business that may result from an FDA inspection. Our detailed reports highlight areas needing improvement and benchmarks to target to stay on the leading edge of the supplier playing field.

HACCP Certification Audits:

The HACCP regulation requires that imported product be produced in accordance with the regulation. As a recognized competent third party, Surefish can perform HACCP certification audits on foreign processors to determine if they are complying with the HACCP requirements. Companies that pass the point-system based audit are issued a certificate indicating their products are HACCP compliant. This certification can be used to meet one of the affirmative steps described in the FDA HACCP requirements for importers.

Supplier Audits:

Experienced Surefish Auditors can travel the globe for your company, assessing your suppliers against the standards you require. These audits will not only assess the supplier's food safety and sanitation practices, but also examine existing QA programs and procedures. Surefish can perform our standard supplier audit or customize the scope of the audit to meet your company's individual needs. The final report and suggestions will provide management, quality control, and production personnel an assessment of your suppliers.

MSC Chain of Custody Certification Audit:

Several worldwide fisheries have currently been certified as sustainable according to the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) Principles and Criteria for Sustainable Fishing. As an accredited Chain of Custody certifier, Surefish can conduct an assessment of your company's chain of custody program and issue MSC Chain of Custody certification, thereby allowing you to use the MSC logo. This logo is increasingly sought by buyers worldwide and can increase the market value and share of your product, as recently evidenced in the New Zealand Hoki Fishery.

Aquaculture Certification Council Certification Audits:

Aquaculture Certification Council, Inc. is a nongovernmental body established to certify social, environmental and food safety standards at aquaculture facilities throughout the world.

The ACC offers a "process" rather than "product" certification, with an orientation toward seafood buyers, not consumers. The ACC program is visually represented by a "Best Aquaculture Practices" certification mark.
